Reel Works Receives a $2 Million Gift from the Yield Giving Open Call!

We're thrilled to announce that we have received a generous grant from Yield Giving Open Call in support of our mission to empower young filmmakers.

Reel Works was chosen from among 6,353 applications from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico after a process of multiple levels of review, feedback, and diligence involving peer applicants and an external Evaluation Panel recruited for experience relevant to this cause.

“This significant award will allow us to do many things: build capacity, deepen partnerships, but most importantly, it will enable us to serve more young people through our unique combination of free filmmaking workshops and workforce development programs,” said Reel Works Co-Founder and CEO John Williams. “We are deeply grateful to Yield Giving for their investment; humbled to see Reel Works among so many outstanding nonprofits doing amazing, inspiring work; and deeply proud of our remarkable team of passionate educators, students, volunteers and leaders who help us fulfill our mission to change the world by changing the storytellers, one at a time.”

"We are excited that our partnership with Yield Giving has resonated with so many organizations," said Cecilia Conrad, CEO of Lever for Change. "In a world teeming with potential and talent, the Open Call has given us an opportunity to identify, uplift, and empower transformative organizations that often remain unseen.”
