NYC Youth Filmmaking Training – Narrative Fellows Program

Reel Works Narrative Fellows offers free, intensive training for young artists to master one filmmaking discipline and build a portfolio for college and career success.

Fellows pick a craft: Writing, Directing, Producing, Cinematography, or Sound & Editing. Writers and Directors will have the opportunity to pitch their treatment, with the chance to produce their script. Working as a cohort, students create original short films, gain hands-on experience, and explore film theory and media through guided study. Each Fellow is paired with a professional mentor throughout the process.

Throughout the program, participants also access paid media work, job shadowing, and master classes with industry professionals. These experiences help Fellows build strong portfolios and prepare for their next steps in education and career.
