Narrative Fellows
MASTER THE CRAFT OF FILMMAKING!
Reel Works Narrative Fellows is a free intensive training program for talented young artists to specialize in a filmmaking discipline, and build a portfolio for college and career success.
Fellows choose one craft: Screenwriting, Directing, Producing, Cinematography, Sound or Editing. They are then paired with a professional mentor to deepen their practice while collaborating to create original short films.
Fellows experience paid media work experiences in their craft of choice, job shadowing and master classes with leading craftspeople. Graduates leave with a reel, a resume and a professional network to launch their careers.
Program Timeline:
Narrative Fellows begins Wednesday, December 6th, 2023 and runs until August 2024. The program meets every Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM.
Capstone film productions will be scheduled for June/July 2024
Post-Production will take place through August 2024.
Eligibility:
New York Resident
Must be between the ages of 16 - 24 years old.
Have experience and drive for one of these disciplines: Screenwriting, Directing, Producing, Cinematography, Sound, or Editing
Attend all weekly sessions and be available for weekend workshops.
Commit to filming your capstone project in June/July 2024 and commit to post-production in August 2024.
Be creative individuals, passionate about new ideas, innovation, and technology

Interview: Participate in an in-person interview on November 15th, November 16th, November 21st, or November 27th
Orientation: Accepted applicants will attend orientation on Wednesday, December 6th, 4:30 - 6:30 pm.
