HBO’s “The Gilded Age” / Local USA 829, IATSE Costume Department Training–a collaborative effort between Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO, Reel Works, and Stockade Works–recently offered aspiring costume designers an immersive experience in period costume design. Warner Bros. Discovery and the Empire State Development Fund funded this program, enabling a comprehensive curriculum that blended various learning environments to provide a holistic view of the art and craft of costume design.

This January, Reel Works took a break from the cold and headed to Los Angeles to host in-person events to serve our growing west-coast alumni community. Meet Mariam, Program Coordinator at Reel Works
Mariam’s journey as Program Coordinator began in February 2023. She started through CUNY’s Internship to Employment program and joined the team full time in September 2023. Mariam brings an abundance of passion and care to this role. She supports after-school students, guiding them through their journey at Reel Works.
