MediaMKRS Career Exploration Graduation

On Thursday, October 27th, Reel Works celebrated the 2022 Career Exploration Graduates in a formal graduation ceremony to honor the participants' achievement in finishing the program. We had 38 students complete the Career Exploration program with 11 of them having already obtained jobs in the media industry.

We hosted a hybrid event in our offices providing a time for some of our students to meet in-person for the first time. We heard from students themselves in this video. We also had a Career Exploration Alumni, Emily Freire, return to share some perspective for the new graduates.  Emily shared that “having done this program was actually life changing for me…I was able to see the industry very firsthand.”

We were honored to have Kwame Amoaku, Deputy Film Commissioner, attend and share words of encouragement for our graduates and support our program. “You're about to be a part of this amazing industry that has all of this versatility and dynamic energy in it. And there's a place for you there,” Mr. Amoaku shared.

After the ceremony, students stayed to network with one another and discuss some of their favorite experiences from the Career Exploration program. Our graduates have held over 114 internships at companies such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Harbor Picture Company, NBCU Paramount, RadicalMedia, Department of Motion Pictures and Jigsaw Productions.

They have all completed three levels of work readiness training, paid media internships and obtained 15 MediaMKRS badges each.  We are very proud of our 2022 Career Exploration graduates. You can learn more about our graduates on our Talent Portal.
