The Narrative Lab

masterlabORGESThe Master Lab is for youth who have successfully completed The Lab, Summer Lab or a similar program outside of Reel Works and would like to gain advanced skills in both documentary and narrative filmmaking.

The Master Lab is an advanced filmmaking session through which teens create individual and collaborative narrative films while working one-on-one with professional filmmaker-mentors. Students will further develop their technical and storytelling skills through the production of an original short film. The Master Lab will culminate with a graduation screening in the summer of 2015.

Eligibility

The Master Lab is open to high school students who are graduates of The Lab, The Summer Lab or similarly intensive filmmaking programs in schools or other after-school programs. Applicants who have not graduated from a Reel Works program may be asked to provide samples of their work and letters of recommendation.

Classes Meet

The Narrative Lab begins in end of November and meets Wednesdays and Thursday, from 430pm – 630pm at Reel Works. Students are expected to meet with their mentors for an additional hour per week and work on their film projects between classes.
